A tattoo is for life not just for summer — which is why it's a good idea to spell-check your body art before you make it permanent.
Poor Hayden Panettiere is probably wishing she'd invested in an English-Italian dictionary before having a foot long tattoo etched on her back… one that contains a typo!
Hayden shows off her new tat while taking a dip with her new fella, Steve Jones, in Cannes.
The new tat reads "vivere senza rimipianti", meaning "live life without regrets" but the final word should actually be spelt "rimpianti".
The Italian speakers at perezhilton.com report that the botched tattoo actually reads more like "live life without regretted".
Doh!
Still, Hayden isn't the first star to get inked with an erroneous tattoo. David Beckham's Sanskrit "Victoria" tattoo is spelt wrong (not that anyone other than Sanskrit scholars would know), and Britney Spears ended up with the Chinese character for "Strange" etched on her hip… when she'd actually asked for "Mysterious"!
